Auslandstournee fand im März 97 in BERLIN auf völlig unterschiedlichen
Bühnen statt (Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Zosch, Checkpoint, Soundman...)
Nach einer Reihe von Konzerten in Estland, Belarus, Polen, Russland hat
Veranika Kruhlova & Kriwi in Alma-Ata am internationalen ASIA-Festival
teilgenommen und dort verschiedene Preise (Roland, Beyerdynamic) erhalten.
Es folgten Mai-Nov. 1998 eine weitere Tournee durch Polen (Festival
Folkloru Ludow Polnocy, Festival Basowischy...) und Konzerte in Berlin
(beim Karneval der Kulturen, Junction Bar, Kulturhaus Mitte, Fete de la
Musique...), Aachen (Musikbunker), Düsseldorf (Habana), Dresden (Scheune).

Band "Bez Bileta"
was created in 1998 in Minsk."Bez
Bileta" ("BB") translates as
"Ticketless Person" from Belarussian language.
Since the band formation, musicians of "BB" have been trying to
put together in their songs Belarussian tune
traditions and modern genres of music.
Songs of the band can be characterized as a mix of different genres of Belarussian and world folk music, new wave, jazz and
art rock. "BB" uses its own lyrics as well as verses of famous Belarussian poets. A very important part of any gig of
the band is a brilliant show with elements of theatrical action and with
close contact with an auditorium.
These are the most noticeable facts of "BB" biography:
... 1999: the band (together with other ensembles from Belarus, Latvia
and Russia)
participated in big youth folk-music festival "Belarus-1999" and
won the first prize.
... 1999 & 2000: "BB" twice appeared on stage of
International Festival "Spirit of Woodstock" annually held in
Italian town of Mirapuri. Being the only Belarussian representative in company of bands from Italy, Germany,
England, USA, Ukraine,
Slovenia, France, Cyprus, "BB"
showed the high level performances and promoted one of their songs to festival´s CD.
... 2000: having gone through a big preliminary selection, "BB"
took part in Abroad Festival of Belarussian Songs
"Basovishcha-2000" in Grodak (near Byalostok,
Poland).
... 2001: "BB" participated in a main Belarussian
ceremony of presentation of rewards in sphere of music "Rock
Crowning". As a result of voting of Belarussian
musical journalist, managers and producers, "BB" was officially
recognized as THE BEST BELARUSSIAN ROOKIE BAND OF 2000 YEAR.
In May 2001 "BB" was invited to take part in some famous Belarussian musical events combined with Main State
Concert Orchestra of the Republic
of Belarus
(conductor-
Michael Finberg).
"BB" released the Single "Under the fir-tree" in 2000.
Songs for the first album of "BB" were recorded in December 2000
and this album (named "On heaven") was released in 2001...

ZORATCHKA (FLAEMMCHEN)

Unser Ensemble wurde
im Jahre 1963 in Minsk gegruendet. Es ist das erste Kollektiv unserer
Republik, dass das kuenstlerische Koennen der belarussischen Kinder
erforscht und propagiert.
Unser Ensemble besteht aus 215 Mitgliedern. Daran nehmen Kinder im Alter
von 5 bis "20" Jahren teil. Wir haben Anfaenger und
Fortgeschrittene und zwei Konzertgruppen zu je 30 Personen: mit Kindern im
Alter von 10 bis 15 Jahren und eine Jugendgruppe.
Zur Zeit bereitet sich diese Jugendgruppe (15 bis 20 Jahre alt) auf den
Aufenthalt in Deutschland, Belgien, Frankreich und den Niederlanden vor.
Das Ensemble hat das Ziel, die musikalischen Traditionen des belarussischen
Volkes zu erlernen und zu erneuern. Wir haben uns die Aufgabe gestellt,
unseren Beitrag zur Wiedergeburt der Volkskunst, zu ihrer Popularitaet, zur
aesthetischen Erziehung unserer Kultur und unserer Sprache zu leisten.
Erste Konzertprogramme gaben wir als kleine Kompositionen. In der letzten
Zeit bemuehen wir uns sehr, an den Formen und Arten des nationalen
musikalischen Schaffens der Kinder zu arbeiten. Von uns wurde folgendes
Programm aus vier Teilen vorbereitet:
"Bunter Reigen", 1. der schoene Fruehling, 2. der schallende
Sommer, 3. der Herbst -
goldene Weberin, 4. der schneereiche Winter. Dieses Programm zeigt das
Leben der Bauern Belorusslands (Belarus). Das Kollektiv hat auf seinem
Spielplan das vokal-choreographische Programm der heutigen Folklore. Hier
finden sich die besten festlich-musikalischen Werke.
Fuer die Zuschauer will "Zoratchka" folgendes Programm anbieten:
Teil 1 Die Jahreszeiten, Teil 2 Belarussisches Souvenir.
Dem Programm entsprechend sind die Volkstrachten aufgeschuerzt. Das
Ensemble wird von erfahrenen Paedagogen geleitet, die die Volkskunst, die
Muttersprache und die belarussische Kultur hoch schaetzen und auch
belarussische Folklore vermitteln.
AY-KHEREL
Ay-Kherel means
"ray of moonlight" in the Tuvan
language. The group was founded in 1994 by one of the most talented masters
of overtone throat-singing Vladimir S. Soyan.
The Ay-Kherel repertoire includes throat singing
carried out in five styles: khoomei, kargyraa, sygyt, borbangnadyr and ezengileer. In
1994, dressed in the colorful national
costumes of Tuva, the Ay-Kherel
Group performed in Canada
and USA, Rudolstadt festival in Germany,
Austria and Hungary
with great success. In 1994, Ay-Kherel also
performed in the Netherlands
alongside artists from Lebanon,
Chile, Japan and the USA,
participating in Guus Janssen´s
opera "Noach". The group´s
solo piece, a portrayal of
the wind, was very successful, as was the rest of the opera. The
combination of the avant-garde with overtone throat-singing sounded fresh
and interesting.
In 1996, Ay-Kherel participated in Poland´s "Festival Folkloru
Ludow Polnocy" and
also performed in Austria.
In 1997, the group participated in Finland´s
"Hapavessi-97" and in 1998 Ay-Kherel
returned to Finland, to
perform in Helsinki.
In 1999 and 2000, Ay-Kherel
returned to Poland´s "Festival Folkloru Ludow Polnocy". In 2001, the group performed in the two
biggest Folklore Festivals in Lithuania "Skamba skamba kankliai" and "Antrubeziaus".
Tuva is rich in musical talent. In order to
become an khoomeizhi (overtone throat-singer)
one must probably be born into a family of khoomei
performers, living in a steppe and listening to the drone of winds in the
mountains and gallop on horses. It is to see snow-covered peaks of
